This multi-age program is designed for 3 ½ - 5 year olds and will provide
age appropriate instruction as well as social experiences to encourage
nurturing behaviors, independence, leadership and patience. Families may
choose either a two day (Mon/Wed) or three day (Mon/Wed/Fri) program.
Is the Multi-age class for your child?
• Multi-age grouping is a term that refers to grouping children so the age span
of the class is larger than one year. Our classroom is designed for 3 1/2-5 year olds.
• Preschoolers have a wide range of developmental differences particularly in
these early years.
• A classroom assistant will be utilized to provide specialized instruction for
differing skill levels.
• Multi-age grouping provides social experiences that encourage nurturing behaviors,
independence, leadership roles, responsibility and patience.
• Studies reveal that younger children are more likely to engage in and contribute to
far more complex activities when they are playing with older children.
This classroom will offer a balance of individual, small group and large group
activities with an emphasis on learning centers.
Open-ended projects and activities will be prepared to support varied developmental
levels as well as varied learning styles. Curriculum will be planned to promote an
environment of interaction and cooperation. We encourage children to learn by doing,
imitating, observing, exploring, examining, experimenting and questioning during
planned activities and experiences.
